do you know

Do
you know...
How happy a new mother is to see
Her baby's first smile?
Do you know...
How excited a runner seems to be
When they run a fast mile?
Do you know...
The beauty of a sleeping child’s face
After a day of busy strife?
Do you know...
The sensuality of a loving embrace
Between husband and wife?
Do you know...
How beautiful the smell is to me
Of a dewy scented flower?
Do you know...
How happy a bald eagle is to be free
Soaring, flying hour after hour?
Do you know...
The patience of an old man, wrinkled of face
Whittling away time with his knife?
Do you know...
How short our time is in this place
And the value of human life?

Emotion

Love's
a lady with long, silken locks,
hate is the monster that jumps out and shocks.
Friendly is conversations, without attitude,
Nasty is meanness, just flat out rude!
Trouble is spelled with a capital 'T.'
Avoidance is trying hard not to see...
Rejection's a door, slammed in your face,
impatience is waiting to begin the race.
Happiness is a close cousin to joy,
lifting spirits, and doesn't annoy.
Denial is a river, both wide and deep,
into which suspicion and depression often creep.
Worry is a thief, robbing you of sleep,
memories are treasures, that you keep.
Fun is a spirit that shines with light,
tenderness is gentle, while holding you tight.
Sorrow engulfs, makes heavy the heart,
regrets come later, not at the start.
Loneliness is a drifter, a shadow, a fog,
confusion wraps your mind in a bog.
Wonder opens eyes and the senses,
solitude's a place without boundaries or fences.

Ever Ridden A Kangaroo?
by oediplex

Have
you ever ridden a kangaroo?
The rides a bit bouncy, O so true!
You may get the hang of how it jumps,
Tho’ harder adjusting to the jarring thumps;
For as the kangaroo leaps and lands,
The rider suddenly understands,
As his mount prepares to spring from a crouch.
Why the joeys choose their mama’s pouch.
And so too in life, where we take a seat,
May make our travels an ordeal or treat,
And sometimes just by taking things in stride,
Helps to cushion a bumpy ride!

Ever?
by *Snatch
©
Ever
been at a loss
to express the thing you feel?
Ever say too many words
creating overkill?
Ever thought that someone else
spoke too often of themself
Never once stopping for air,
they'd loose the audience if they dare..
Ever wish that you could crawl
into a hole, away from all?
Ever meet another soul,
living life without a goal..
Day by day, just getting by,
not realizing how the time does fly.
Until one day, they stop and see..
that nothing they've done was meant to be.
They wasted hours, that turned to days,
when they could have done much
in better ways..
Ever want to stop the time,
to organize what's in your mind?
It can't be done, far as I know,
time does not stop... it's swift flow.
And you've no choice but to ride the wave..
until it end.. at your grave.

Existence
It
flashes by in a blink of an eye
Alive for a second dead for an age
This life of ours is merely a stage
A small part of the master plan
An adventure - which has just began
It lasts forever and never ends
Going on through time it occasionally sends
a message of hope that we are more
Than this life, and we can look for
The next level that awaits us all
There is a voice, just listen
And you will hear its call

Eyes...
by *Snatch
©
The
eyes reflect emotions..
love, hate, lust desire
sadness...
Windows to one's soul.
They sparkle with tears of joy,
darken with sorrow.
The get sleepy,
grow weepy.
Eyes speak volumes,
without words.
Piercing as an arrow,
sharp as a knife,
dull with boredom..
they twinkle with mischief,
lower in guilt,
look away in shyness.
Eyes question
and answer questions.
No matter the colour..
blue, green, hazel, lavender,
brown or even black...
Eyes light the face
stare into space,
show fear..
are fierce,
they blaze with anger..
grow soft with love.
Gaze into the eyes
and see reality.
