A Fine Line
by *Snatch
©
Everyone
walks that fine line...
at one time or another in their life.
We've all 'stood on the edge,'
pushed ourselves to the limit,
gone beyond all expectations,
at some time.
You and I have 'been there, done that.'
Paid the piper,
called the shots,
and been in hot water...
I've been 'put on the spot'
played for a fool,
looked like one too.
Acted like an idiot,
stood my ground
and been around...
I've also done plenty to myself.
I've slapped myself silly,
kicked myself in the ass,
and a few times
lied myself blue in the face,
and talked myself out of it.
I've faced the music,
accepted my fate,
paid my dues
and sung the blues...
Finally,
I've faced reality,
and I still find it to be,
a fine line to be walked.

A Moment in Time
by Laura7C

Passion
churns my stomach into knots
Knowledge so scant leaves me wary but teases and my interest grows
The connection was there, I could not have imagined something so intense
The subtle chemistry between two minds, the science of human nature
Even as life involves me in the mundane I am distracted by the memory of a
moment in time
Reality and fantasy swirl and I falter with doubts yet hold strong with
hopes
Fear offers a slight chill to the heat, yet the fire within threatens to
consume
Souls so fragile yet so strong, exists worlds apart
The connection between was made for only a moment in time and forever
etched in my mind

A Song of Springtime
by Rhianon
©
Dark
and dreary Winter, the season
That symbolises death
Has been driven back once more
By Spring's sweet breath.
She has come now, and though her time
Is so very short
She will sweep away the cold brought on
By Winter's retort.
If I could have just one wish in life
Then I would pray
That Spring and I were alone together
For only a day.
I alone allowed to breathe her scent
Hour by hour
Lie unclothed in the light of her sun
Among the wildflowers.
Her purity would touch the blood in me
And make it sing,
Her beauty would bathe the realm in me
Where truth would ring.
She will leave me immune to the touch
Of Winter's wrath,
And I should no longer call my place
A wanderer's path.
I could carry her always with me, if only
She had the time
To lay her hand upon my tortured soul
And call serenity mine.
Alas, all the world cries out to her, frozen
Deep from within
Needing to feel her healing touch
Soothing evil, healing sin.
Soon, oh so soon she will be gone
For another year
Her touch lives through summer, and then
Winter will be here.
Winter and I are old acquaintances
For a long time ago
He gave birth to my beating heart
And left it in the snow.

A Thoughtless World
by Riles
©
We
live in a world of rapid time,
Express minutes in countless hours.
Spent doing everything at once,
Yet nothing really at all.
We live in a world of chaos,
With people always rushing-
No time for love,
No time to spare.
We live in a world of anger,
Condemning what we don’t understand-
Exiling those we fear.
Spending our recycled time,
Coveting our neighbour’s possessions.
We live in a world of confusion,
Where violence is our solution,
Death being our saviour.

A woman's prayer
by Avery_Chisholm
© totally
meant 2 be tongue and cheek:-)
Now I lay me down 2 sleep
I pray for a man who's not a CREEP
one who's handsome smart & strong
one who's WILLY is THICK & LONG:-)
one who thinks before he speaks
when he promises 2 call he won't wait for weeks
I pray that he's gainfully employed
and when I spend his cash he won't be annoyed
pulls out my chair & opens my door
massage's my back & begs 2 do more
Oh! send me a man who'll make LOVE 2 my mind
knows just what 2 say when I ask "how big's my behind"??
one who'll make LOVE till my body's a twitchin
in the hall, the garden, and even the kitchen
I pray this man will LOVE me no end
and never attempts 2 shag my very best friend
and as I kneel and pray by my bed
I look at the ****head you sent me instead

A Word
by April
©
With
a word, you lift me up.
Without a word, you drop me down.
Your words hurt,
Your words soothe.
They sting,
They smooth.
I am set on fire.
I am hosed down.
Turned to ashes.
All with a word
